Hila Baggio has already sung many leading roles in the Israeli opera, and her current role as Violetta is one of her most impressive. It was hard not to admire her precision: every sound and movement is incredibly calculated, and even in the most stormy passages she always remains clear and bright. Baggio has always been a stage animal with presence, but this time it was mainly her voice that focused attention and helped make Violetta, once again, a flesh and blood character. In my opinion, she sounds better than ever.
Hila Baggio managed to portray a vulnerable and emotional Violetta, who was also virtuosic and musical.
The Israeli Hila Baggio gave a better performance than ever. She coped brilliantly with the challenging first act, but really impressed with the dramatic sections of the second act, and the lyrical and tragic sections of the third act.

Those were brought on to stage especially by Hila Baggio, whose passionate Soprano matched perfectly Donizetti’s writing for the role of the young widow, Norina.

The special quality of this production is based on the soprano, Hila Baggio, who portrays Gilda. There is something about her voice and stage character that contribute something unique to both of her partners.
From my perspective, thanks to her it would not have been a mistake to call this opera "Gilda."
After these comes Gilda's great aria in which Verdi issues his soprano an extreme challenge of vocal pyrotechnics. A bravura turn, Baggio sings this coloratura segment with minimal effort, as if presenting the musings of a young girl daydreaming of love.

The real discovery of the production was the young Israeli Hila Baggio. She had sung several coloratura roles such as Olympia, Rosina and Despina, but she has reached her apex as Marie. Her light coloratura voice was fresh and bright, easily producing the light staccato so essential to the role, with constant attention to accurate intonation of every pitch. This was matched by her youthful and lovely acting. Baggio made the sensitive distinction between the coloratura fireworks and the two exquisite soprano arias, Il faut partir in Act 1 and Par le rang in Act 2 when she changed her voice quality to that of cantabile lyrical soprano.
